Inspiring Your Future Through Sport

Sheffield United Community Foundation Volunteering

Volunteers are involved in many ways with Sheffield United Community Foundation and SUFC and are the backbone and face of many events. Some of them provide valuable help with match day activity. We believe in nurturing them during their time with us so can they develop skills which help on the road to employability.

Our links with Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield University, The Sheffield College and Longley Park has provided us with volunteers who we train and support on a range of activity and programmes. We have also started to work with The Sheffield Academy of Young Leaders and have provided opportunities for those doing Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Our Kickz Project encourages volunteering with participants being encouraged to get involved as well as enabling others to support elements such as football, dance and youth clubs. A number of young people who have been involved now work on the project.

We offer a number of work related placements and volunteer coaching activities to college and university students.

Students from Sheffield Hallam University who follow a range of courses have become involved with us and have support charity events, Community Day in May and carried our match day audit as part of our equality work.

Our work with volunteers has been recognised locally and we have made a number of visits to the Town Hall with groups of volunteers.

If you are interested in getting involved you need to be over 16 and email community@sufc.co.uk with your CV and a covering letter explaining how and why you would like to be involved.
