Disability Inclusion Coordinator

 

Sheffield United Community Foundation are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified individual to coordinate and develop inclusive participation opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role will initially be term time only starting in January 2021.

High Level Summary:

 Term: Fixed term until 31st August 2021

Salary: Pro rata £18,000 – £21,000

Start Date: As soon as possible

Closing Date: 5.00pm on 18th January 2021

About the role:

 The candidate will have a proven record of successful community engagement and providing participation opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our goal is to inspire young people to achieve their potential and improve their wellbeing, working together to build stronger, safer and more inclusive communities.

The role will require working in schools and during community time, which includes evenings and weekends, to provide project specific initiatives for children and young people with SEND.

Applicants should have a good knowledge and understanding of youth engagement, knowledge and experience of SEND, experience of planning and coordinating inclusive sports participation projects for children and young people with SEND, and a desire to support the personal development of individuals with SEND as a player, volunteer, coach and/or official.
