Health & Wellbeing – Mental Health Lead
Sheffield United Community Foundation are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead on the delivery and development of our mental health programmes.
The applicant will be at the forefront of facilitating mental health programmes for people in Sheffield and the surrounding areas, using the inspiring brand of Sheffield United FC and the reach and appeal of football to engage with those in need of immediate mental health support. The successful candidate will also be involved in the development and delivery of other Health and Wellbeing programmes and will be a key member of staff in the department’s growth and future success.
The role will be fixed term for 12 months.

About the role:
The primary focus of the Mental Health Lead (MHL) is to provide day to day support, coordination, and delivery of mental health programmes on behalf of Sheffield United Community Foundation. Current programmes include Men’s Talk Club and Youth Mental Health Support. We are actively expanding our mental health programmes to support more people in Sheffield and the MHL will play a leading role in supporting this.
The MHL will help people manage and improve their mental health and wellbeing, recover, achieve their personal goals, build relationships, and connect with their local community. Included in this will be the consultation of new participants joining our mental health programmes as well as the monitoring and evaluating of active participants progress against individual targets and broader programme Key Performance Indicators. The MHL will assist in the collection, storage, and analysis of participant data, using such information to contribute to reports and presentations as requested by stakeholders, funders, and partners.
The MHL will also be required to liaise with representatives from Clinical, Health, Social Care, and the Voluntary Sector connecting with medical professionals, stakeholders, and participants with appropriate services and elevating the work of Sheffield United Community Foundation.
The MHL will be part of the Communities & Wellbeing Department and report to the Health & Wellbeing Officer.
The role will require working in various facilities across Sheffield and surrounding areas, which includes evenings and weekends, to provide project specific initiatives at a time and place which meet the needs of participants.
