NCS Deliver Curriculum Support to Sheffield College Students

By February 22, 2021News

Sheffield United Community Foundation NCS teamed up with Sheffield Wednesday NCS and Element Society NCS to deliver curriculum support to Sheffield College students.

As part of the wider delivery of NCS, all of the NCS teams mentioned above have been working with local schools and colleges in Sheffield to deliver skill-based workshops to Years 11, 12 and 13 students. These workshops were put on to make sure that students still developed their personal development skills during these challenging times.

We developed a set of workshops spanning across 12 weeks covering a range of topics ranging from ‘C.V. writing tips’ and ‘What to expect in an interview’ to ‘How to look after yours and others wellbeing’. These sessions have been developed in partnership with Sheffield College, aiming to highlight and tackle real life issues that their students have been facing.

The sessions have been really well received and are currently being delivered to over 1,000 Sheffield College students as part of their study programmes.

Adam Ledger, Sheffield United Community Foundation NCS Manager, said: “It has been a pleasure collaborating with both Sheffield Wednesday and Element Society during this fantastic piece of work.

“Being able to help this many students out with a vastly experienced Sheffield NCS network has been brilliant.”
