Traineeship Progressions: What Are They Up To Now

By May 27, 2022News

Since 2019 our Traineeship Programme has engaged with over 60 young people aged 16-24. Over that period, we have seen around 85% of our trainees progress into employment or further education.

Callen joined our Traineeship Programme in March 2021 and after an incredibly successful 12 weeks, he impressed many of our community coaches with his work on our BTEC Football Development Programme and half-term football camps.

Building on his work on the Traineeship, Callen managed to successfully secure a place on our Foundation Degree Programme, studying Community Football Coaching and Development. Fast forward to now, Callen is thriving on the FD Programme and continues his development and gaining valuable experience by working across numerous Foundation programmes.

Callen had the following to say about his journey with The Foundation so far:

“Following on from COVID-19, the traineeship was a huge help in me finding something I enjoy. It allowed me to gain experience in coaching and was the steppingstone to the Foundation Degree as well as my coaching badges. The Traineeship certainly kickstarted my career in the industry.”

We also caught up with Ruben who completed our most recent Traineeship this past February. Ruben’s pathway was slightly different as he completed an external work placement undertaking graphic design with AB Graphics LTD.

Ruben came to us with little experience and unsure of his career path but with a keen interest in graphic design. Having greatly impressed AB Graphics LTD during his Traineeship, he has recently been offered a full-time position as a graphic designer with the company!

Ruben said, “I would recommend the traineeship to anyone who doesn’t know what they’re wanting to pursue for their career and looking to gain some experience in the real working world. It has been so beneficial for me, and I have taken my chance to progress into a full-time job that I really enjoy.”

These are just two of some of the fantastic progressions we have seen on our Traineeship Programme. Keep an eye out for more in the future!

Finally, well done lads! Keep up the good work.
