JOB ADVERT – NCS Manager

Sheffield United Community Foundation are seeking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic, and target driven person to effectively manage the delivery of a high quality, safe and to specification programme for Sheffield United Community Foundation. Responsibilities extend to the management of operational and administrative staff, oversight of health and safety and safeguarding matters as well as operational deployment and incident management.  The role will be the key liaison between Sheffield United Community Foundation and the commissioning body, The EFL Trust.

About the role:

The successful candidate will have project management experience in educational and non-traditional settings and should also have experience in managing a multi disciplined team, practical management of a CRM system and a proven track record of managing relationships and partnerships to support the success of the NCS programme. Prior experience of NCS and/or community outreach work as well is desirable.

Applicants should have a good knowledge and understanding of the safeguarding and health and safety; a proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, a secure understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes,  be self-motivated, with excellent communication skills including written, telephone and interpersonal skills.

As an employed member of staff at Sheffield United Community Foundation you will be entitled to statutory holidays that include bank holidays as well as adopting a flexible working policy. You will be required to attend regular NCS and Foundation meetings and manage your own time and performance.

About Sheffield United Community Foundation:

Sheffield United Community Foundation is the official registered charity of Sheffield United Football Club, working in the areas of Sports Participation, Education & Training, Health & Wellbeing, Community Cohesion and NCS.

Our Mission –

Our goal is to build links between the football club and the community using the appeal of football and sport in general to encourage, motivate and inspire all individuals, regardless of background, to achieve their potential.

The community programmes are aimed at strengthening self-esteem, developing personal skills, promoting health and wellbeing, improving academic achievement and generally empowering people in the local area.

NCS Strand –

NCS is a 3-week project designed to engaged young people, aged 15 – 17. The 3-week programme will equip young people with valuable skills for work and life. The project is devised into 4 stages; Adventure – week of adventure, enjoying some adrenaline-fuelled activities including rock-climbing, canoeing, hiking, and archery. Discovery – stay in uni-style accommodation, learn how to cook, live independently, and learn huge skills that make for a killer CV. Action – change the world around, that’s why this week is dedicated to delivering their very own social action project. Graduation – celebrate after the programme, all the NCS graduates are rewarded with a memorable celebration after doing inspirational work in their community.

High level summary:

Term: 12-month fixed term

Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 (dependant on experience)
